A dramatically sloping site made this property the last in it’s neighborhood to be developed. The intrepid owners could see it’s possibilities and we helped them to combine high performance with a sense of neighborly “fit”.
This modern home was beholden to HOA with a traditional aesthetic.

Through the use of custom swivel doors the front foyer can be entirely open or entirely private.
This open riser stair allows daylight to penetrate into all three stories and the rooms beyond.
An open plan between the living room & kitchen is moderated by casework and risers that allow each to have its own separate identity.

In the master shower these windows can become instantly frosted and therefore entirely private at the touch of a button using smart film technology.

With this reconstruction and revitalization of a Richard Isenhour mid-century modern, our primary goal was to gently expand and modernize while honoring the proportional appeal of the original. Only the stonework and foundation remained after demolition and it was rebuilt “from the ground up“.
